The Maisah is a 2 piece kids abaya or cape abaya for girls in dual colors: an outer cape in a contrasting shade over a plain A-line abaya underneath. Worn together it looks like a layered occasion outfit. Worn without the cape it is a plain everyday abaya. Two looks from one order. Cut in five age-based sizes for girls from 5 to 14 years.
It is made in premium Nida Matte fabric, the soft matte weave we use across the collection. Nida Matte is opaque, light on the skin, drapes straight without clinging and barely creases through a full day out.
Why Two Solid Shades Instead Of A Print
Dual color kids abayas usually mean a print, and a print dates fast and fades unevenly. The Maisah gets its contrast from two solid shades layered over each other instead, so the interest comes from the cut and not from a pattern she will grow out of liking.
The inner abaya is a complete garment on its own, which is the part that makes this school-friendly. The cape comes off for madrasa and goes back on for Eid.

Do not go by her regular clothing size. Measure around the fullest part of her chest with a soft tape and match that number to the chart below. Length only needs to reach the ankle. These are final garment measurements and already include wearing room.

Buying a two piece cape abaya for a 6 year old girl or a 5 year old, take the 5-6 Years size: 26 inch chest and 38 inch length. For a 7 or 8 year old, the 7-8 Years size at 28 inch chest and 40 inch length. An abaya for a 10 year old girl is the 9-10 Years size, 30 inch chest and 42 inch length, and this is the size parents order most often. For an 11 or 12 year old girl take 11-12 Years at 32 inch chest and 44 inch length, and for a 13 or 14 year old the 13-14 Years size at 34 inch chest and 46 inch length.

Eight Colors, Plus White And Black
Maroon is the shade parents ask for first and the one that sells out around Eid. Baby pink is the shade we photograph the set in and the usual pick for younger girls. Beyond those two the Maisah comes in aqua, grey, khaki, mustard, silver and violet.
Deep shades such as maroon and violet are the practical everyday picks. Lighter shades like baby pink, aqua and silver photograph beautifully for Eid and family functions but need a little more care in the wash. How To Style It
For occasions wear the cape over the abaya with a plain hijab and let the contrast do the work. For school leave the cape at home and wear the inner abaya on its own.
Care Instructions
- Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent; wash dark and bright shades separately for the first two or three washes
- Do not bleach and do not dry clean
- Do not wring. Press the water out gently and hang to dry in shade
- Iron on medium heat or steam, inside out
- Wash the cape and the inner abaya together so the two shades stay true to each other
- Hang on a wide hanger rather than folding, so the fall of the fabric is not creased
